I-Dosing, Stemulating Your Brain With Headphones

Category: Geeks r Us

Post 1 by Animal A K A Magic Dragon (Veteran Zoner) on Thursday, 06-Jan-2011 22:23:35

Okay, Didn't know where I should post this topic, and I don't even know if anyone else has done it yet. But...

As some of you might know, I have been experimenting with new ways to acheve mental stemulation. You also probably know I am a major Canabis freek, but that's not what this topic is about.
For the past few months of living in the great state of Florida, I have tryed alternitaves to Marajuana, some of wich have been productive and others not. But, I have recently discovered something new, legal, and a hell of a lot cheeper.
It's called I-Doser. It is a computer program, and or MP3, that transmits different sound frequencies in to your brain, causing different affects, depending on the types of "Doses" you use.
Now, Before I go on, I must confess that this is a questionable peace of software, One, it's not accessible with jaws, two, though it is completely legal, I would highly reccomend that anyone under eighteen not try it.
Moving on...

There are hundreds of stemulating semulations availibal and they do cost money,, Ranging from two, to two hundred dollars, (US,.) But, the question is, "Do they really work???"

Well, I as an expeerienced Stoner would have to say yes. I tryed the Marajuana Sem, and I did feel like I smoked a bole of some high class gonja. I also Tryed the LSD, Payote, Acid, and Harowyn as well. They all worked good, But, it must be mintioned that I have never done Harowyn before, and if it was the real thing, I never will either, so I can't say beyond a shadow of a doubt that it felt the same.

I will say However, that I did trip mad balls, and to me, it beets going out to a dealers house and risking my life to get high.

But, it's not just for Druggies to Enjoy. Oe no...
There are Semulations for about everything. Pain Killers, Sleep Aids, Mood Enhancements, Sexual Stemulents, Dietaries, Spiritualistic Expeeriences, and Meditation.

If you would like to try it out, Hit me up and I'll help you get to the right page. I'm not going to give out the URL here, because I don't need kids getting messed up and me getting sued for it. lol

Again, I-Dosing is completely Legal, and risk free. Except for Kids. And I'm not making this up. The avrage human brain dosen't mature until about 21 or 22 years of age, and an a kid trying it could cause damage. Not sure for sure, but it is about the only risk involved.

If you have had any expeeriences with I-Doser, or just want more information about it, or just wanna chat, Leave responces below.

Thanks for reading, and Happy Dosing guys...

Here's some further reading, thinks to wikipedia:
I-Doser is an application for the playback of proprietary audio content. This separately purchasable content has attracted media attention as it aims to simulate specific mental states through the use of binaural beat technology, and many of the simulations available take their names from prohibited recreational drugs.
Research into the neurological technology behind I-Doser is sparse. Peer-reviewed studies exist suggesting that some specific binaural beat mixes can affect aspects of mental performance and mood, act as analgesic supplements or affect perceptions, but there have been no formal studies of any effects of mixes particular to I-Doser. Researchers from Oregon Health and Science University interviewed about I-Doser have expressed skepticism over its scientific basis, citing a four person controlled study of binaural beats that demonstrated no evidence of brainwave entrainment. Other universities have also stated skepticism.

Post 3 by DevilishAnthony (Just go on and agree with me. You know you want to.) on Thursday, 06-Jan-2011 22:49:47

I've tried it, but since I have such a profound hearing loss, I probably didn't get the full effect. Years ago, there was another program like it called Brainwave Generator. People could actually make their own presets for it.

Post 4 by Animal A K A Magic Dragon (Veteran Zoner) on Thursday, 06-Jan-2011 23:00:38

Okay, Fuck it, This following post contains the web page where you can find I-Doser, But, I take no responceability for what happens if you use this under age. Please be responceable with it.

I-Doser Q&A:

1. What is I-Doser?
I-Doser Labs is the leading producer of Binaural Brainwave CDs and computer applications. Using proven, scientific, and safe methods of synchronizing your brainwaves; a simulated state can be achieved through the use of our advanced audio CDs, or the I-Doser Application, and a pair of high quality stereo headphones. Our Binaural process has been refined with years of research and development. With thousands of satisfied users, the I-Doser Labs CDs, MP3s, and the I-Doser Application for PCs continue to lead the industry as the only safe and effective method to achieve a simulated mood or experience.

Recreational Simulation CDs and MP3 are collections of binaural doses on standard audio CDs or MP3s. Each audio track contains our advanced binaural beats that will synchronize your brainwaves to the same state as the recreational dose. Mixed with our advanced auditory pulses are soothing backtracks of ambient soundscapes to help the brain induce of state of mood lift, euphoria, sedation, and hallucination. I-Doser CDs and MP3s are also perfect for using with iPods, other MP3 players, or through a regular CD player.

I-Doser for the PC is the most advanced computer application available to achieve a simulated mood or experience through the use of binaural beats. Use I-Doser to play doses purchased through the I-Doser Store. Each dose is scientifically designed to give you the optimal measure of pure beats safely and effectively to induce state. Every download of the I-Doser application includes two free doses.

Go to top
2. Does I-Doser really work?
All I-Doser doses are tested by a panel of users who consider themselves experienced in binaural beat modification. A dose is not passed on to the I-Doser Store until it is proven working by a good majority of the tester staff. We find that users of I-Doser fall into one of 3 categories: Susceptible to Binaural Beats, Originally Unsusceptible to Binuaral Beats, and Immune to Binaural Beats. This is why we include several free doses with the application, so you can see for yourself if the process works for you. Some users have also reported that it may take several uses over a period of time before they see results. We can only tell you to try for yourself. Some other things that could effect your dose are: not taking your dose in a quiet serene environment, damaged or poor quality headphones, or the volume you are playing the dose at. These issues will be addressed elsewhere in the FAQ. Before purchasing Recreational Simulation CDs or MP3s, we advice you try the I-Doser Application and Free Doses to see if I-Doser works for you.

Go to top
3. Is I-Doser safe?
Absolutely! I-Doser has been tested on many people of many different age ranges and there has never been an issue with the safety of the I-Doser doses. However, for doses marked "strong or long program doses, it is highly advisable you do not operate heavy machinery or drive under the influence of a strong I-Doser dose. Use it with the same respects you would a doctor prescribed or recreational drug.

Go to top
4. How does administrating a dose work?
With a Recreational Simulation CD, it's easy. Pick a track and listen to the entire program throgh a pair of high quality headphones. Recreational MP3s can be used with iPod or other MP3 players. With the I-Doser Application, a dose is purchased through the I-Doser store and can be downloaded after payment approval. The dose is opened through the I-Doser application and played as binaural beats through high quality headphones to achieve the mood specified by the dose description. You are licensed to use each dose as many times as you want on one computer if you have I-Doser v4.5 installed.

Go to top
5. Can I use an I-Doser dose to replace doctor prescribed medication?
Absolutely NOT! I-Doser and the purchased doses are intended for entertainment purposes only. While we fully stand behind the fact that the process works, it is NOT intended to replace doctor prescribed medication.

Go to top
6. Can I use an I-Doser dose to replace a recreational drug?
Yes (and no.) We have received many emails from users who have used I-Doser doses to help them kick the habit of recreational drugs. I-Doser makes no claims to the effectiveness of using I-Doser doses to help treat a drug addiction, and we highly recommend professional help for people wishing to break a harmful drug habit. But, if I-Doser helps in conjunction with professional help, we are always happy to hear of such results.

Go to top
7. Can I mix prescribed or recreational drugs and I-Doser doses?
Yes. For doctor prescribed medication, I-Doser will not interfere with any form of this medication. For recreational drugs, I-Doser has received many emails from users who have had great experiences enhancing their recreational drug taking with doses supplied with I-Doser. We can, however, not recommend the mixing of illegal drugs with doses supplied by I-Doser. Any illegal drug can be dangerous, so we make no claims or recommendations for users wanting to experiment with I-Doser and recreational drugs.

Go to top
8. How long will the effects of a dose last?
We have done much research into this to try and give our users a solid answer. The truth it, this varies quite a bit. It seems to be dependent on how quickly you return to normal brain activity. See "how to maximize the duration of a dose."

Go to top
9. What steps can be taken to maximize a dose?
Several steps can be taken to maximize the potential of an I-Doser dose. We at I-Doser actually consider this essential to the dosing experience. First, set a serene mood. It is recommended that you administrate the dose while lying down in a dim-lit room in solitude without any noisy distractions. No interruptions, no phone ringing, nothing! It should be you and the dose. It is advisable that you use a pair of high quality headphones, and the headphones that I-Doser scientists use when designing doses are listed at I-Doser.com. Play the dose at a comfortable soft level, not too loud, and just lay back and clear your mind. Let the dose do the work. Let the entire dose play out without removing the headphones, and remove them only when the dose is finished playing.

Go to top
10. How can I maximize the duration of the effects?
We have done many tests with I-Doser to get the most out of each dose. The duration of the effects seems dependent on how quickly your brain returns to its prior state. We recommend that you carefully read the description of the dose and stick to activity related to the dose you just took.

Go to top
11. All I hear is hisses and beeps?
I-Doser works by playing two separate binaural beats through the headphones and into each ear. The hertz level is mixed with the beats and sent on a carrier tone of white noise. The hiss or static is the white noise, and is completely normal and essential to the dose. For a further explanation see further questions in the FAQ explaining usage.

Go to top
12. Do I need headphones? Can't I just play it through my speakers?
Headphones are REQUIRED. Simply playing your dose through your computer or laptop speakers will have no effect. Binaural beats need to travel in separate tones through each isolated ear at the same time. This is not possible through speakers. The higher quality the headphones, the better your experience will be. See I-Doser.com to purchase the headphones used by I-Doser scientists when designing doses.

Continuing:

13. My headphones won't stretch to a comfortable place, like my bed?
You have 3 choices when it comes to headphones and your location. First, you can just use a pair of regular headphones and sit at your computer with your eyes closed. Or, you can order a headphone cable extension cable and run the cable somewhere comfortable. Finally, and this is what I-Doser techs do, you can order a wireless headphone unit and take your dose anywhere in your house. Check I-Doser.com for the exact headphones used by I-Doser scientists when designing doses.

Go to top
14. What headphones do you recommend?
Please check I-Doser.com. We list the exact headphones used by I-Doser scientists when designing doses, and they wll give you the best experience with I-Doser brand products.

Go to top
15. Can I get a refund on a dose that does not work?
No. I-Doser doses are sold as-is. It is recommended you try the test doses included free with the download of I-Doser before you commit to a dose purchase. Also, try purchasing single doses to see if you like the dose before purchasing multi-dose packs.

Go to top
16. The I-Doser application, dose, purchased dose, or web page does not work?
I-Doser is currently handling a very large order volume for doses. Because of the high rate of happy I-Doser users, and to keep the cost of doses down, everything (application, doses, web) is considered as-is. The I-Doser application is offered free for download and includes free doses for your own testing purposes. If you are not happy with the application, included free doses, or the web experience - please, submit an experience report and uninstall the application. We find that most users are very happy with the I-Doser experience.

Go to top
17. How does the order process work?
Doses are purchased through the I-Doser store using the PayPal shopping system. This is currently all we support. After your order is processed and approved, you can instantly download your order through the I-Doser Web Store. A link with download information is emailed to you, or visit the account area of the Web Store. Ordering as fast, easy, and there are no shipping or processing charges for doseses purchased for the PC Application. I-Doser Simulations CDs are sent via US mail, and MP3 packs are directly downloaded.

Go to top
18. How are orders ship?
Dose orders for the I-Doser Application are downloaded directly from the Web Store after payment approval. They can then be opened and used in the I-Doser application.

Go to top
19. How many times can I take a purchased dose?
Each dose can be played on one computer as many times as you want if you have I-Doser v4.5. Additional computers will require a re-purchase of the dose. Simulation CDs are standard audio CDs, and thus are unlimited, as are the MP3 collections.

Go to top
20. How loud should I play my dose?
Generally, our lab tests have shown that the overall volume of the dose will not alter the effect. Because of this, we recommend you play the dose at a soft, pleasing, level. Playing the dose too loudly can distort the beats or cause brain distraction. Keep that in mind. You want to hear it, but you don't want it blasting.

Go to top
21. Who are you?
The I-Doser group consists of several teams of underground music and tonal experts, programmers, testers, researchers and admins. We all take the I-Doser project very serious and with a professional attitude. We are very interested in communicating with the users, and ask that you use the "Submit Experiences" sections of the application and web page to let us hear your thoughts on the project.

Go to top
22. What is your relationship with SBaGen? Are you open source?
I-Doser uses a linked DLL based on SBaGen as its binaural beat engine. SBaGen's source code has always been licensed by its author (Jim Peters) under the GNU GPLv2. Up until June 2007, I-Doser was distributed in violation of SBaGen's license. However, an agreement was reached between Jim Peters and I-Doser in June 2007. The details of this agreement can be found here. The source code for SBaGen and I-Doser's linked DLL is included with the I-Doser installer and can be found in the application directory post-install.

Yeh Anthoney, I to have a hearing impairment, and know what your saying. I get the brain waves to the brain, just the left side of my head don't listen. I can hear, but I can't. I still get the affects of it though.

Try using better head phones, or playing it through a sound system, sit in the mittle of the room if need be.

I would love to get high off of sound. that would b pretty fucking awesome. wouldn't have to spend money on canibis anymore. wouldn't be breaking any religious rules of any kind either. all the afffect, without the damage awesome.

Post 11 by ThaCake (Not the best, just better than you.) on Friday, 07-Jan-2011 15:57:54

Ok so, i just tried it. it didn't work. it gave me a slight adrenaline rush, but it didn't do anything else. I listened to the lsd one and the canibis one. i do however have a headache maybe that affected it? hmmm don't know

Post 12 by theJournalist (move over school!) on Friday, 07-Jan-2011 17:48:06

hey,

yes, I've used this program quite often, though I have converted the idoser files to sbg (there's a website which converts the .drg files to SBAGen files, and sbagen is a multi-platform brainwave generator). Look up sbagen on google. Yes, that is jaws friendly as it uses the command line.

I've personally never tried any of the drug ones, because I don't aproove of them. That's not to say I ever will, but for now being in college, nope.

I have tried the astral projection and other spiritual ones, and they've sort of worked. The problem is that my mind blocks out the frequencies so I simply *can't* concentrate. And I know this is why they don't work. So word of advice, focus intencly and relax into the sounds.

As for the sbg converter,
http://www.khattam.info/drg2sbg/

is your friend. Keep in mind, iDoser is who stole sbagen's code. So even though they made the doses they still violated law in that they stole the code behind SBAGen, and it wasn't until a year or 2 ago that they admited this and put the licenses in their file.

SBAGen works on Windows Mobile, dos, windows, and mac.

All the best,
Tomi

The I-Doser program isn't the most friendly, but I'm using jaws 10, and I can click the menu bar buttons at the top by using the jaws cursor and left clicking them. With Brainwave generator, you buy the program just once, and then can download as many presets as you want.
www.bwgen.com
is the site, if you want to take a look.

Post 15 by Animal A K A Magic Dragon (Veteran Zoner) on Saturday, 08-Jan-2011 0:41:48

wow, didn't expect this board to run as good as it is.

Well, Thanks for that link, I'll have to look in to that. I can use the program, and I got JFW11. I guess anyone could. Its just a loot of rooting of your kersers and stuff.

Also, there are MP3's you can look at. The I-Doser websight sells mp3 packages, and there are other cites out there that you can get them from, but that's all I'm saying about that. lol...

And, yes, if you want to get the full affect of a dose, you need to use good headphones, and try to be in a place that you wont get distracted as much.

Thanks again Toney I believe it was, for the link above. If there is an accessible version of the softwhere out there, and this is it, you might be solving a lot of my problems..

Thanks again for the poasts guys.
Happy Dosing
Nick

Okay, one more post before I call it quits for the bords tonight...

This is a bit of a challendge I am giving myself and the Dose Files.

There is a nickatene file that is supposed to emulate the affects of a cigaret. My challendge is to put I-Doser to the test, and see if I can stop smoking Stoaggies. I'm going to start on monday, and update the board throughout the challendge and keep you all posted. If it works, I'll be saving another hundred and fifty bucks a month. if not, oe well, I can still get high. lol
So, Be sure to check this thred periodically for updates. Again, that will be sometime monday that I start. Wish me luck, I'm going to need it.

Happy Dosing:
Nick

I tried two different ones this morning, and absolutely zilch for results.

Post 19 by Marissapc2010 (Zone BBS is my Life) on Saturday, 08-Jan-2011 18:34:18

yeah. same here. how disappointing

Post 20 by theJournalist (move over school!) on Sunday, 09-Jan-2011 4:32:22

ok, it may work for some, not for others.

There's now a new type of tone-generation called "harmonic box x". Basically you combine Binaural and monaural beats to create a harmonic. I have a website which has a lot of i-doser doses converted into harmonic box versions, but will not give it out for legal reasons and can't help people who want it. Google the harmonic box x brainwave, you will find some samples of the idea.

Below is a direct link to SBAGen, which is what a lot of these brainwave files are produced by. it's a free program, and I use it not only because i-doser stole it's original code and uses it in their program but because it is also accessible and uses a dos window.

Last night I tried the out of body "dose" in the harmonic box version and needless to say it worked until I distracted myself by panicking.

For those who don't feel anything, focus and concentrate. I'd recommend you look into the harmonic box method because it is at least 3 times more effective.
download sbagen here

Enjoy. There are already some samples with SBAGen, which should get those who don't want to pay for doses started. Some are like aspirin, out of body, etc. These *are* not harmonic box doses but should do the job for starters-I haven't tried them myself though.

All the best,
Tomi

So, I tried this a few days ago. i didn't download the iDoser program, however I downloaded lots of the doses in Flac format. i had them playing. It didn't work for me. I have to much on my mind, and I'm not good at clearing my mind. In order for this to work, you really have to clear your mind, lay there and relax. The only one that messed with me with in the first moments of hearing it was the Alcohol dose. That was crazy, but other than that, it didn't really work for me.

Post 22 by Marissapc2010 (Zone BBS is my Life) on Thursday, 13-Jan-2011 10:45:02

same here. I can't clear my mind at all either. thoughts like. this is retarded keep coming in to my head. lol. I wish it worked though

Post 23 by spfan15 (O&A Party Rock!!!) on Thursday, 13-Jan-2011 11:05:48

It'd be some awesome shit. I'd be high as a kite all the time. And that's exactly what I think!!!

Post 24 by OceanDream (An Ocean of Thoughts) on Thursday, 13-Jan-2011 21:27:28

I tried one called Heaven's Gate, and it made me feel like I was drunk, which was fine, but when I came out of that, I had a huge headache. I won't knock it, though, since that was only one, and it's possible I wasn't concentrating completely.

it does not work for me!

Post 28 by Animal A K A Magic Dragon (Veteran Zoner) on Saturday, 15-Jan-2011 23:27:17

Well, I been a slacken...

First,, Appologies for not checking this board sooner. It's been a very hectic week, and Needless to say, my smoking idea didn't pull through. Too much going on!!!

But, I would like to agree with you all though. To each there own, and that's respectible, so I will not knock you for not trying it.

Now, on to my Experiment. I didn't start this week, because, quite frankly, I would have lost my mind. I got a hell of a lot of stuff happening right now, and nickatene was necessary and detramental to me surviving the past few days. But, I will give it a shot come this monday, so, if your introsted, check here for updates.

I know some of you are saying that it don't work for you, this could be to a few reasons, most of wich mintioned in the first few posts at the top of the thread.
1: you need good headphones. Not thoes shitty ass ones you get at the dollar stor for a buck, or walmart for five. I would have to say skull candies work good, and the I Pod headphones.

Two, despite what the Q&A said, trying it with out other substances works better.

Three, your mind must be cleared and you must be relaxed.

If your still having problems, know it don't work on the first try all the time. To be honest, some of the doses still don't affect me, and the marajuana one is losing it's affectiveness, so it is possable that you have a tollerence to the doses, or your unable to take in more than one sound wave at a time. If your entrosted, keep trying with different doses until you find one that works. You can find many on you tube, so don't worry about the money thinggy.

Thanks to everybody for participating, and again, I appologies for not updating you all. The experiment will start on monday, if things calm down around here.
Thanks again..
Happy Dosing as always:
Dragon

Hey. I tryed this program. It's pritty cool. It does work. I managed to make myself wake up better with the froast one. It's pritty dang cool.

Post 30 by LeoGuardian (You mean there is something outside of this room with my computer in it?) on Saturday, 12-Feb-2011 14:58:20

I suggest you read the article here to balance out the equation.
Now what about this? Suffice it to say in my misspent youth I did things which provide me the commensorate experience necessary to comment upon how similar this would be to being stoned, wither you mean a light toke on the ol' bowl or you mean completely and totally baked:
I have not listened to iDoser's primarily because I want to use my iPod and don't want to blow 10 bucks on the app.
However, I have tried some of these out, you can find trippy-sounding files on Youtube which consist of a lot of interesting noise forest, industrial, whatever you want to call it: We enjoyed this stuff 20 years ago without the marketing. In fact, so we diluted ourselves, because there was no marketing.
There are wild claims regarding the effects, but the waves are more an expression of what is actually going on. You don't change the wave to get the underlying stuff to change, you change what's going on behind the scenes.

Just for fun, last night when the wife was gone overnight, I listened to several of these on Youtube, and found the industrial ones far more trippy / enjoyable than just the binaural sine waves. Whether it was just memories of former days or some effect, I had a few weird dreams, but nothing of great consequence.
As to the 'clear your mind' juju, that, too, in my opinion is just a marketing gimmick like the faith healers: everyone can space out, usually unintentionally, but to claim the mind must be cleared, to me is a reach. After all, since that is so totally subjective and mystical / superstitious, all one need do is claim I didn't clear my mind enough, without any evidence whatsoever. After all, what is clearing the mind, and how would you prove someone did or didn't. That's why the mystical types don't like us pragmatists, but so ends my diatribe on the tomfoolery claims. Well, almost: Are we surprised now that there are claims to cure cancer, improve sexual function, all the same claims we see for every conceivable item on the market?
Even the Sharper Image has cast their lot in on this stuff.
Don't get me wrong: I'm not down on this, not at all. I'll continue to fool around with it, see if the iPhone apps dedicated to improving focus and such actually do anything while I'm having a rough day at work. And if I get some positive effect, be it placebo or otherwise, no harm done. I'm not throwing any money at it now.
I do find the lower-pitch frequencies easier on the ears, plus anyone with a hearing impairment who wants to fool with this stuff would be able to benefit from those.
I did achieve a mild euphoric effect - something akin to a very light buzz, but how can I possibly know that wasn't the power of suggestion?
Just remember, the waves in your brain are an emission, not an input. You don't modify the wave in order to get an effect. You have an effect, then the wave is modified. Of course, all sorts of sounds have effects on us: consider the numerous sleep aids out there, or your iPod / radio when you're working out. But everyone responds totally differently. My wife listens to talk when working out. I'd personally rather hear Metallica, Korn, Mudvane, etc. while running on the step, pumping the weights, or cranking out the push-ups. I *think* it charges me up, but I doubt it actually does anything physical, it's just good times.

If you do want to piddle with this stuff, I'd suggest checking out any free app for your device that will let you piddle with settings, like what goes in the background, how low or high the pitch is, etc. As to the virtual effects created by industrial electronics / synthesis? If you like it, (which I do), you'll think it's fun. But nothing biological changes. Meaning the "trippy" effect is gone as soon as you turn it off. And by "trippy" I simply mean it's like a 3D video game, you visualize all sorts of things based on the virtual atmosphere that's around you. When you shut it off, it's gone.
The wild claims on some of this are enough to turn any healthy mind / skeptic off, but as I say, if you find this sort of thing interesting, it's worth a play.

You have to be kidding if you're actually believing the faked 'trips' the kiddies ac out on Youtube, though. Forgot to mention that. Playing around with old industrial music from the 90s aside, Sharper Image aside, their supposed trips are to me, at least, obvious fakes.
Glad I missed the panicked reactions of 2009 when the media sheeple arose or rather descended, to the occasion and immediately began deriding this form of entertainment, whose supposed effectiveness is sketchy, at best.
Gives 'em something to do.
But seriously, there are a lot of interesting ambient apps for iPhone, Sharper Image, iDoser and otherwise. Some rather neat nature and volcano apps, for one.
